Holiday Greeting

Friends,
In this season of Light when the Sun is being reborn through the Solstice and the Son is being born in the Bethlehem of our hearts, when the Miracle of the Lights is celebrated at Hanukkah and various aspects of African heritage are lifted up in Kwanzaa, we all come together at the start of a new year, mindful of the work that lies before us.

Through all these celebrations, we are reminded of the radical love, peace, and justice that the Christ embodies and that our Jewish siblings call Tikkun Olam – that is healing and repairing the world. Let us embrace the call to care for creation, uplift the marginalized, and stand for equality and compassion in all that we do. May the spirit of hope that began in Bethlehem and that continues now in the Firebird Community of Hope inspire us to create a world where all are treated with dignity, kindness, empathy and respect.

2025 promises to be another year of ups and downs. May our hearts remain open to transformation, and may God’s love guide us toward the Beloved Community – a more just and loving future as we embrace the example of the Firebird’s evolving Way of the Spirit which we celebrate this season!
